Bethesda Hospital

When Bethesda Hospital wanted to add two new operating theatres with associated spaces, amenities and practical facilities, the unique location presented an incredible opportunity and challenge.

It sits atop a cliff overlooking the Swan River with incredible views to take advantage of for both the patients and staff to enjoy. However, with an existing building on top of the cliff, the new theatres needed to sit underneath on the side of the steep incline.

From an aesthetic point-of-view, the new design ties in with the existing architecture, with materials selected to compliment the rest of the hospital. The end result is state-of-the-art medical facilities in a space that gives panoramic views to all – even from one of the theatres.
